This is turning out to be so much more than a dollar crisis book.

I like how he parallels the economic breakdown to the breakdown of Western culture as a whole:

“So, why is our society so discontented that we seek outside sources to fill our longings?

I believe that the primary source of our discontent comes from the advertising media.

As a society, we have been brainwashed into believing that we are not good enough. The media bombards us with lies. It tells us that we aren’t rich enough, pretty enough, successful enough, thin enough, or exciting enough. It tells teenage girls that they are somehow inadequate if they don’t look like Christina Aguilera, Britney Spears, or Lindsay Lohan. We are brainwashed to believe that we smell bad and look bad and are unappealing if we don’t buy this deodarant, this toothpaste, or […]”

And so we buy.

Here is Vickers talking about a global currency and a global government, just music to my ears:
